PHILOSOPHY

Our school offers a warm safe haven for a child to develop and discover his or her own possibilities. The Montessori method provides the child with an independent learning experience. This is achieved through the use of didactic materials, many of which have a built-in control of error, allowing the child to check his or her own progress. Children learn this philosophy by experiencing and manipulating their physical environment, as well as through varied social experiences. Children are social beings and need opportunities to develop social competence, problem solving skills, a critical consciousness, autonomy, self-regulation and a sense of purpose. They need experiences that encourage them to make choices, interact with one another, negotiate, listen to other’s perspectives as well as express their own thoughts and feelings. Through these experiences children develop, test and refine appropriate strategies of interaction with peers and adults.

Program Highlights

Ratios

Our school has capacity for 66 students total and we have 6 classrooms. Our class sizes range from 7-14 students, with a 7:1 maximum ratio.

Meals

We provide snack three times a day. It is typically cut up fruit and a dry snack that is dairy and nut fee. We keep a nut-free & healthy environment. We ask that you do not pack extra sugary items such as chocolate, candy or juice. We have filtered water on campus. Lunch is packed by the parent daily. We do provide a Pizza Lunch option every Friday for $25.00 per month.

Nap

All students under the age of 4 years old receive two hours of nap between 12:00-2:00pm. Our students nap on mats. You will be asked to provide a small crib sheet, blanket that will be taken home every Friday to wash and return.

Outdoor Play

Students receive two and a half hours of outdoor play time, split into 30 minute increments throughout the day.

ADMISSION PROCESS

We accept children between the ages of 2-6 years old. Our enrollment period typically occurs between June-September, while we do offer rolling admission throughout the year if space is available.
